Babies and children who are overtired often appear hyperactive or “wired”. If your child starts bouncing off the walls in the early evening don’t mistake their behavior for being “not tired yet”.
Most likely they need an earlier bedtime, not a later one, and the later you wait the more they will fight. (Unless you end up waiting until they’re just so exhausted that they pass out anyway, but the child who does that is more likely to wake up during the night or super-early in the morning).
When in doubt, go early with bedtime.
