If you’re not sure whether your child is getting enough sleep there is one very simple way to tell. Watch your child carefully during the hour between 4 and 5 pm. Does he start to seem listless? Cranky? Fussy? If so, it’s likely that your child needs more sleep.
Having a regular “witching hour” in the very early evening is the hallmark of a chronically overtired child and the likely solution is an earlier bedtime and possibly adjusting the nap schedule if your child is still taking naps.
